Welcome to Ride - Coventry.

Ride was born out of Atkins Cycles Wholesale, a company which formed in 1975 by Ron Atkins to supply his son and many other friend's shops around the Midlands. In the late 80s Darren and Paul joined the company and expanded the business to supply over 100 shops in the midlands but by the late 90s these shops were disappearing fast and so the two grandsons decided on a change in direction. The wanted to use the knowledge they had gained and so started the retail outlet in February 1999. With Darren's interest and knowledge in cycle racing equipment and Paul's interest in Skateboarding and BMX the name Ride was an obvious choice.

Ride are proud sponsors of the Coventry Road Club, with a strong presence in the West Midlands, the 'Road Club' have members riding for enjoyment as well as racers in all disciplines. See CoventryRoadclub.org.uk >>

Meet the staff:

Gary has been working at Ride since the year 2000.His first love is skateboarding but also enjoys a healthy interest in bikes and has been seen mountain biking on more than one occasion. Gary is here to help with anything Mountain bike, BMX, Hybrid or Skateboarding related.

A director of Ride, Paul is passionate Skate boarder and BMX Rider, he was a professional BMX  rider during the mid 80s and still enjoys some lime light performing demos and competitions around the UK.

Director of Ride Darren is a bike-a-holic, he commutes 20 miles each day and then goes 'training' . He raced as an Elite cyclist for over 15 years but now he enjoys just riding with the occasional venture into sportive riding. Darren is here to help with any road bike enquiries.
